LDK deputy Lutfi Haziri has announced that he will run for mayor of the municipality of Gjilan.
Through a Facebook post, Haziri stated that, together with the Presidency of the Branch, they will compile the most representative candidate list ever, aimed at securing the leadership role at the municipal level, while the candidate for Mayor will be a consensual and widely accepted figure to bring LDK back into the executive leadership.
“Together, with love, we will restore Gjilan’s reputation as an economic, educational, security, cultural, and sports center!”
In his capacity as Chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) Branch in Gjilan, Haziri presented the final draft of the Branch Council regarding the February 9 election results during today’s Presidency meeting.
Despite the positive trend and his confirmation as a deputy in the Assembly of the Republic, Haziri said that LDK in Gjilan is now preparing for the local elections.
“As Branch Chairman, I have reviewed and accepted comments, and approved the detailed analysis and report on the recent parliamentary elections. We have now begun initial preparations for the local elections.
Together with the Branch Presidency, we will create the most representative list ever, which will secure LDK’s leadership at the municipal level. The candidate for Mayor will be consensual and acceptable to return LDK to executive governance.
As long as I am Branch Chairman, I am the sole candidate for Mayor, and today we have launched the process for this.
LDK in Gjilan enjoys political and functional unity. We are one political family with a single goal: the great return of LDK to the Municipality of Gjilan.
Together, with love, we will bring back Gjilan’s reputation as a leading center of economy, education, security, culture, and sports!” Haziri wrote.
