In Montenegro, citizens have handed over to the police 3,611 pieces of firearms, 121,256 rounds of ammunition, 403 hand grenades, and hundreds of other explosive devices and weapon parts this year.
The Police Directorate today called on citizens to continue participating in the voluntary weapons surrender campaign under the slogan: “Respect Life, Return Weapons.”
In just the past nine days, residents across municipalities in Montenegro have voluntarily submitted 25 firearms, 1,425 rounds of ammunition, and three hand grenades to the police.
In Podgorica and Cetinje, citizens turned in five pistols, four rifles, and 370 rounds of ammunition.
In Bar, Ulcinj, Kotor, and Tivat, over the last nine days, two pistols, five rifles, 991 rounds of ammunition, two hand grenades, and 40 bullet primers were voluntarily handed in.
In Bijelo Polje, one pistol, three rifles, 40 rounds of ammunition, and one hand grenade were surrendered.
In Nikšić, Pljevlja, and Šavnik, citizens handed over three pistols, two rifles, and 24 rounds of ammunition in the last nine days.
