Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman said that the “Jadran” training ship is not the only asset Croatia is seeking from Montenegro.
According to him, Zagreb has documents showing that the assets in question are worth more than €2.4 billion.
Grlić Radman made the remarks during a meeting of foreign ministers of the Berlin Process in Pržno, and later attended a wreath-laying ceremony at a memorial plaque dedicated to Croatian prisoners at the former Morinj camp.
He said Croatia possesses interactive maps and documents that, according to him, show the state of military assets on May 31, 1990, and one year later, Index.hr reports.
“At that time, we had around 207 vessels in Croatia and around 30 in Montenegro, while a year later the situation was reversed—207 in Montenegro and around 30 in Croatia,” the Croatian minister said.
According to him, the assets also include military vessels, submarines, and a military hospital. He claimed that some of these assets have disappeared or been transferred, and that Croatia has documented these cases.
“We have everything registered, and we are talking about assets worth more than €2.4 billion,” Grlić Radman said.
The Croatian minister also addressed the issue of returning confiscated property belonging to Croats in Montenegro. He said Croatia would insist that the issue be addressed within Chapter 23 of Montenegro’s negotiations with the European Union.
Meanwhile, Montenegro’s Foreign Minister Ervin Ibrahimović said that Montenegro is ready to confront its past and build a society based on truth and justice.
