President Vjosa Osmani delivered a speech at the University of Helsinki, outlining Kosovo’s vision for a Euro-Atlantic future and reaffirming the country’s commitment to defending the values of freedom and democracy.

She expressed her happiness at being in Finlanda friendly country to Kosovo and praised former Finnish President Martti Ahtisaari for his vital contributions to Kosovo.

The head of state emphasized that Kosovo is a young country with a young population, but one that has made significant progress in a short period of time.

“Kosovo contributes to peace, stability, and prosperity not just in the region, but across Europe,” Osmani stated.

Speaking before students at the University of Helsinki, Osmani reflected on the challenges, suffering, and injustices endured by Kosovo during the war in the 1990s.

“Even in 2008, when we gained independence, we promised to build a democracy—and we delivered on that promise,” she said.

“It’s always the people who build the state,” she added.
