The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, wrote about the 26th anniversary of the beginning of NATO airstrikes against Serbian targets.
March 24th, Osmani said, was the day when freedom took flight, and the democratic world did not remain silent.
Osmani thanked Kosovo’s allies who supported the cause for a free, independent, and sovereign state.
“It was the day when NATO allies stood against evil, to protect a people fighting for survival, threatened by the genocidal regime of Serbia. It was the day when darkness was defeated by the light of hope.
From the flames of sacrifice and the liberation struggle, the free Kosovo was born! 26 years later, Kosovo stands proudly, sovereign and unwavering, towards a brighter future.
Glory to all those who gave their lives for freedom!
Thanks to our allies who helped our cause for a free, independent, and sovereign Kosovo!” – Osmani wrote.
