The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) will make a decision on Monday regarding whether it will support the candidate from Vetëvendosje (VV) for Speaker of the Assembly. This was confirmed by PDK’s Secretary General, Vlora Çitaku.

In an interview with Klan Kosova, Çitaku emphasized that the Constitutional Court’s ruling on this matter is clear, stating that the position of Speaker belongs to the largest parliamentary group, which in this case is VV.

“The Constitutional Court’s decision regarding the position of Speaker is clear — it belongs to the largest parliamentary group. In the past, PDK did not vote for VV’s candidate but also did not block the session,” Çitaku said.

Çitaku added that the final decision on how PDK will act will be taken on Monday. She stressed that beyond numbers and voting for a single position, PDK insists that political debate should return to more important issues.

“PDK will make the decision on Monday. Beyond numbers, beyond voting for a position, PDK insists that debate must shift back to important national issues,” she said.

Speaking about the situation within the party, Çitaku stated that PDK is now more united than ever.

“PDK is more united than ever before, and I have no doubt about the loyalty that our MPs have toward the program, the project, and the party’s symbol under which they ran in the elections,” Çitaku concluded.
