Venezuela continues to grapple with the devastating aftermath of the powerful earthquakes that struck the country last Wednesday, as search and rescue teams press on with operations in the hardest-hit areas.
Although thousands of people have been located in recent days, anxiety remains high as tens of thousands are still unaccounted for. According to data from a dedicated online platform used to register missing persons, the whereabouts of 46,628 people remain unknown.
The platform allows citizens to report the names, personal details, and last known locations of missing relatives, helping authorities and rescue teams coordinate search efforts across the country.
According to the latest update, the number of missing people has decreased compared to the previous day. On Sunday (June 28), the list of missing persons exceeded 50,000. So far, 15,097 people who were initially reported missing have been found.
In total, around 61,000 people have been reported missing since the earthquakes struck, although authorities say the figure is gradually declining as more people are identified and search-and-rescue operations continue to make progress.
Emergency crews remain at work among the rubble, while families continue to wait anxiously for news of their loved ones.
