Prime Minister Albin Kurti spoke in Turkey about the investments made by the government, stating that the highest budget allocations are: defense and security, agriculture, education, and health.
He mentioned that the defense budget has been doubled, the budget for armaments has been tripled, and the overseas training for soldiers and officers has been quadrupled.
“In terms of defense, over three years, we have added 1852 soldiers, including 600 new soldiers this year. We have doubled the defense budget, tripled the budget for armaments, and quadrupled the overseas training for our soldiers and officers, a significant portion of whom are in the Republic of Turkey learning, studying, training, and exercising to be as prepared as possible for the defense and security of their homeland, the Republic of Kosovo.”
“We have increased the age limit for soldiers from 23 to 25 years and equipped our army with increasingly modern armaments. We have purchased Bayraktar drones from Turkey and Javelin anti-tank missiles from America.”
He stated that Security Education will be introduced in schools.
“We are introducing the subject of Security Education in schools, but we are also implementing comprehensive or total defense so that if our homeland is threatened, every citizen will have their role and function in defense and security. Thus, comprehensive defense on one hand and security education in schools on the other are very important for our country, and our government has already started drafting and implementing these,” declared Kurti.
