Upon taking office, President of the Republic of Kosovo Justina Shiroka-Pula today paid tribute at the “Adem Jashari” Memorial Complex in Prekaz, as well as at the graves of Kosovo’s historic President Ibrahim Rugova and prominent activist Adem Demaçi.
In Prekaz, President Shiroka-Pula honored the extraordinary sacrifice of the Jashari family and the legacy of legendary commander Adem Jashari.
“Prekaz remains a symbol of unparalleled resistance and sacrifice for the homeland,” the President said.
During her visit to the grave of historic President Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, she praised the wisdom and vision with which he led Kosovo during one of the most decisive periods in its history.
“His political legacy and vision for a free, democratic Kosovo oriented toward the Western world are a guiding light for us,” President Shiroka-Pula emphasized.
At the grave of activist Adem Demaçi, the President honored his life and legacy, emphasizing that he devoted his entire life to the freedom and dignity of the people of Kosovo.

“With his determination and sacrifice, Demaçi became a symbol of resistance and refusal to submit in the face of injustice,” she said.
President Shiroka-Pula stressed that honoring these figures is also a reminder of the foundations upon which the state of Kosovo was built the sacrifice, vision and resilience of generations.
