Madam President Vjosa Osmani of Kosovo has declared the Serbian List’s boycott of the mayoral voting in four northern municipalities, shedding light on the individual behind this directive.
Following her tribute in Koshare, President Osmani addressed the media, revealing that the Serbian List’s call for a boycott stems from Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić’s orders.
“Regrettably, once again, it is Aleksandar Vučić who fails to honor his commitments made before allies, including Chancellor Scholz and President Macron. He assured in various meetings that he wouldn’t apply unlawful pressure on Serbs to abstain from participating in such processes,” expressed Osmani.
She emphasized the commitment to defending the rights of all citizens impartially, stating, “We are dedicated to ensuring that Serbs residing in Kosovo exercise their constitutional rights. However, some are unfortunately allowing themselves to be manipulated by Vučić. I urge the international community and our allies to vehemently oppose this unlawful pressure on Serbs in Kosovo and to hold Vučić accountable, as he has no authority to intervene in Kosovo’s electoral procedures.”
Responding to accusations from the Serbian List that Kosovo institutions are pressuring the Serbian community, Osmani dismissed them as false and aimed at concealing the unlawful pressure exerted by President Vučić through the Serbian List in Kosovo.
