Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that on May 16, Tirana will host the leaders of European countries in a major international event to be held in Skanderbeg Square.
In a live video from the heart of the capital, Rama said preparations are in full swing and that Tirana will become a European focal point for that day.
“Good morning from Skanderbeg Square, where all the leaders of Europe will pass through on May 16. This will become the home of Europe, with all the cities of Albania united for Europe,” Rama declared.
He added that it will be a historic moment for the country and its global image.
“I won’t reveal more, but this will be a showcase of Albania on the international stage, and the whole world will have its eyes on Albania, on Tirana, on the square of our National Hero that day.”
