The organizer of the border blockades, Rasha Rojeviq, has threatened with radical measures if there is no “normalization of the situation” by October 1.

Rojeviq told Tanjug that there is no blockade at any crossing, stating that traffic at Jarinje has been normal throughout, but he noted that the movement of vehicles carrying goods with Kosovar documents was halted.

He also mentioned that they have given the Kosovar Government a deadline until October 1 to “normalize the situation,” otherwise, he said they will take more radical measures.

Some individuals presenting themselves as non-governmental organizations set up these blockades on the Serbian side of the border with Kosovo as a protest against the closure of five Serbian parallel municipal facilities in the north at the end of August.

As a condition for their removal, they demanded the withdrawal of the Kosovo Police from the north and the takeover of control by KFOR.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MPB) announced yesterday afternoon that the border points at Bërnjak and Merdare, which were closed after unknown masked Serbs were checking Kosovars with foreign plates, have been reopened.
