The spokesperson of the EU, Peter Stano, said that the report of the High Representative of the EU, Josep Borrell, which is being drawn up about whether Kosovo has taken the necessary steps to remove the punitive measures against it and which will then presented to member states, is still being finalized.

“The report is still being finalized”, Stano said briefly about this issue at today’s conference.

Meanwhile, when asked if the recent actions of the Kosovo authorities to close six units of the so-called “Postal Savings Bank” of Serbia in Kosovo were affecting Borrell’s report, Stano replied that these actions have a negative impact on the de-escalation of the situation, added that this situation was also the reason why Kosovo was punished.

“The measures were introduced as a response to uncoordinated unilateral steps that led to more escalation and did not help de-escalation. Those [measures] were taken to motivate the Kosovo authorities to work on de-escalation, so of course everything that is happening on the ground and that has a negative impact on the efforts leading to de-escalation, will be taken into account and will be included in the report” .
