UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer emphasized the importance of unity ahead of his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump today at the White House.
“The world is becoming increasingly dangerous, and it is more important than ever that we stand united with our allies,” Starmer said in comments released by Downing Street.
The Prime Minister also highlighted key issues on the agenda, including the economy, borders, and national security. He particularly pointed to artificial intelligence (AI) and space as areas for closer cooperation with the United States.
On Wednesday, Starmer is scheduled to meet with CEOs of major American companies in an effort to showcase the UK’s offerings to investors.
The war in Ukraine will be a central topic during the meeting, following a visit by French President Macron to Washington DC earlier this week, where he met with Trump to discuss Ukraine’s security.
On the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion, Starmer affirmed that there would be no negotiations over Ukraine without Ukraine’s involvement.
