Cases of smuggling of goods illegally entering Kosovo are quite frequent. Smugglers try to introduce the goods mostly through alternative routes, if they cannot do this through the border points. This is suspected to have also happened yesterday in the north, where the Police discovered a case.

A patrolling unit of the Border Police, together with the KFOR, during the patrol noticed a car entering the territory of Kosovo from Serbia outside the border crossing point, in which case they intervened.

In the 24-hour report of the Police, it is known that there were two Serbian citizens inside the car.

A car driven by a man while another man was in the passenger seat was observed by the police entering through the village of Izvor in Zubin Potok from Serbia to Kosovo.

The police announced that on 05.04.2024, around 16:20 until a border unit together with KROR, were patrolling, they noticed the car entering Kosovo outside the border crossing point.

“The car was stopped, it was driven by the Serbian male suspect and there was also a Serbian male passenger in it” – it is stated in the police announcement dated 04.06.2024″

Regarding the case, the State Prosecutor has also been notified, who has ordered to initiate the investigation for the criminal offense “Unauthorized crossing of the border crossing”.

For this criminal offense, the case will be dealt with in a regular procedure.
