The UK Foreign Office has released a video captured by drones funded by the UK, showing illegal migrants crossing the Albania-Kosovo border.
Along with this video, the United Kingdom stated that criminal gangs have turned the Western Balkans into a major transit route for illegal migration.
“Technology funded by the United Kingdom is helping stop human traffickers in Kosovo. This is what happens when we work together to tackle irregular migration,” the British Office wrote.
During his visit to Kosovo, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy tested the British technology that Kosovo is using to fight trafficking.
Lammy said that his government is working with partner countries in the Western Balkans to crush these criminal groups.
“Here in Kosovo, technology provided by the United Kingdom, such as drones and endoscopes, is helping stop gangs smuggling weapons and people across the region,” Lammy said at the time.
The British diplomat stated that with the technology provided by the United Kingdom, the fight against these gangs is ongoing.
