U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that a new agreement with Iran is expected to be signed soon and that the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened to international navigation following its conclusion.

In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump said that the new agreement is fundamentally different from the deal reached during the administration of Barack Obama, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which he has repeatedly criticized.

According to Trump, the current agreement is designed to completely prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons and represents a tougher and more effective approach to addressing Iran’s nuclear program.

Trump emphasized that, if finalized, the agreement would open a new chapter of cooperation between the United States and Iran, including efforts aimed at stabilizing the situation in the Middle East.

He also stated that, in later stages, the United States may take steps to monitor and neutralize nuclear materials in Iran if such measures are deemed necessary for international security.

According to Trump, the long-term objective is broader cooperation with Iran and countries across the region in order to prevent further escalation and ensure lasting stability in the Middle East.
