U.S. Vice President JD Vance stated that his country will “walk away” if Ukraine and Russia fail to agree on a settlement, echoing recent remarks by other American officials.

His warning came after peace talks in London involving officials from the UK, France, Germany, Ukraine, and the United States were scaled back following the withdrawal of U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff.

The United States has shifted its focus to negotiations this week in Moscow, where Witkoff is expected to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin for the fourth time, as diplomatic efforts to end the war continue to accelerate.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reiterated his insistence on “an immediate, full, and unconditional ceasefire.”
