Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) leader Miloš Vučević has announced that the party will launch its election campaign in Novi Sad with a major rally at Trg slobode in approximately two weeks.
In a post on Instagram, Vučević called on supporters to gather in the central Novi Sad square, saying the event would send a message that “only a united Serbia wins.”
“About two weeks from now, we will see each other at Trg slobode in Novi Sad, from where we will send a message together that only a united Serbia wins,” Vučević wrote.
Vučević said he was proud of what he described as the majority of Novi Sad that was standing up against hatred, division and attempts to undermine the future of children.
Speaking at a gathering in Ledinci on Saturday, he again urged citizens to attend the planned Novi Sad rally.
“From our Novi Sad, we will launch the campaign for a united Serbia! This is an opportunity for the blockers to count us. People are fed up with their violence, but elections are an opportunity for political struggle. We will be alone against everyone! On one side will be our list led by Aleksandar Vučić, and on the other side everyone else. We will fight and we will win,” Vučević said.
His announcement signals an increasingly active campaign period for the SNS, as Serbia’s political scene remains marked by tensions between the ruling party and opposition and student-led protest movements.
