In a statement posted on social media, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine is “ready to support Romania in any way necessary under these circumstances.”
The president stated that pressure on Russia must increase to ensure that the war “does not drag on or expand,” BBC reports, according to Klankosova.
Wishing the injured a “speedy recovery,” Zelensky added that Ukraine is counting on new European Union sanctions to be strong enough “to make Russia feel that its attacks come with significant losses for Russia itself.”
