On May 21, it will be 25 years since the massacre of 13 innocent citizens in the village of Stagovë in Kaçanik.
That day, May 21, 13 citizens of Kosovo were brutally killed by the terrorist forces of the Milosevic regime, not even sparing the 7-year-old Fitim Gudaqi. Also on this day the martyrs fell: Hanife Jaha, Selvije Krivanjeva, Baki Bela, Hanife Gudaqi, Ramush Jaha, Ibush Rrushi, Ramadan Dashi, Fahri Mani, Bahrije Elezi, Sevdije Guri, Hamdi Dashi, Brahim Dashi. On this day, the martyr Ekrem Gudaqi fell in defense of civilians.
The massacre of Stagova is among the most terrible massacres that took place in Kosovo and for which the former leaders of the criminal regime of Serbia, led by the criminal Slobodan Milosevic, were accused by the Tribunal for War Crimes in the Former Yugoslavia of war crimes based in The Hague, but no one was convicted for these macabre crimes!
May 21, 1999, apart from bringing incurable pain to the residents here, this date will also be remembered for the destruction, burning and killing of livestock.
From the 180 houses that this village had on May 20, the next day the Serbian paramilitaries burned and destroyed over 50 percent of them, or translated into numbers over 90 houses. So these facts speak clearly about the goals of Milosevic’s Serbian regime, which was not only the physical disappearance, but also the material one of the Albanian being, which is defined as a genocidal goal against a nation, in this case the Kosovo Albanians.
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the fall of martyrs and martyrs on May 21, 1999, under the supervision of the mayor of Kaçanik Municipality, Besim Ilazi, in cooperation with the OVL of the KLA, a commemorative event is held in Stagovë.
The demonstration is held starting from 13:30. After the conclusion of the demonstration, tributes will be paid at the Memorial Complex at the Martyrs’ Cemetery in Kaçanik.
