On the eve of Kosovo’s 18th Independence Day, Canadian Member of Parliament Kyle Seeback extended his congratulations and highlighted his personal connection to the country.

Seeback emphasized that Canada has maintained a long-standing and strong friendship with Kosovo and expressed pride that Canada was among the first countries to recognize Kosovo’s independence.

He also shared a personal note, revealing that his wife is from Kosovo and that the couple spent part of their honeymoon in the country. During their visit, they enjoyed traditional cuisine and Seeback gained deep appreciation for Kosovo’s rich cultural heritage.

“Kosovars are deeply proud of their country. One piece of advice for anyone visiting Kosovo: go to Rahovec and try a macchiato – it was the best coffee I’ve ever had,” Seeback told reporters.

He added a family touch, revealing that his son is named William Kastriot Seeback, inspired by the Albanian national hero Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu, whom he described as a symbol of courage and independence.

“I want to join Kosovars everywhere in the world in celebrating independence next week, here in Canada and abroad. Happy Independence Day!” Seeback concluded.
