Ukrainian drone attacks targeted several regions of Russia overnight, including the Ilsky oil refinery in Krasnodar Krai, where local authorities reported a large-scale fire following the strikes.
According to Telegram channels linked to Russian security services, Krasnodar Krai was attacked by Liutyi drones starting in the evening, with local air defense systems shooting down more than 20 drones over the region.
Residents reported hearing more than 10 explosions near the settlement of Ilsky. Shortly after, a major fire broke out at the local oil refinery. The Krasnodar Krai operations headquarters confirmed the region was attacked but did not provide details regarding damages or affected facilities.
Krasnodar Krai, a strategic region in southwestern Russia along the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, is located opposite the Kerch Strait from the Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula.
Amid the reported air threat, airports in Krasnodar, Sochi, and Gelendzhik suspended operations for at least four hours. Air raid sirens were also activated in Novorossiysk and Slavyansk-na-Kuban.
Meanwhile, drones reportedly targeted the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia’s central Volga-Ural region. Around 3 a.m. local time, explosions were heard on the outskirts of Kazan and Nizhnekamsk. Witnesses reported hearing multiple blasts, after which power was cut in one Kazan neighborhood. The city is approximately 1,300–1,400 kilometers from the Russia-Ukraine border.
Airports in Kazan and Nizhnekamsk temporarily halted arrivals and departures.
