Germany has officially congratulated Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti on his re-election and third term in office.
The message was delivered through German Ambassador to Kosovo Rainer Rudolph and Deputy Ambassador Christian Böttcher, who visited Kurti to personally convey the letter of congratulations from German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
In his letter, Chancellor Merz highlighted Germany’s commitment to continue close cooperation with Kosovo, aiming to further deepen the friendly and strategic relations between the two countries.
Merz emphasized:
- The Kosovar government faces challenging tasks, and he is confident that Kurti’s experience will guide sound decisions to advance Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic integration.
- This includes progress in the EU-mediated dialogue for normalization with Serbia.
- Kosovo can rely on Germany as a strong and reliable partner in these efforts.
During the meeting, Ambassador Rudolph and Deputy Ambassador Böttcher focused on identifying concrete steps to elevate bilateral cooperation in the areas of economy and security.
This visit reaffirms Germany’s support for Kosovo’s European and Euro-Atlantic path, highlighting the importance of strategic partnerships in regional stability and development.
