Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has dismissed claims that the Middle East conflict is heading toward an “endless war,” asserting that the military operations will lead to “an era of peace” and, in his words, democracy for Iran.

In an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu stated:

“This is not an endless war. In fact, this is something that will bring an era of peace that we could not even dream of.”

He reiterated that the intervention was necessary to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, although he did not present concrete evidence that Tehran was close to achieving this goal.

Netanyahu’s stance, alongside that of U.S. President Donald Trump, contrasts with assessments from U.S. intelligence, which suggest that Iran is around a decade away from developing a militarily viable intercontinental ballistic missile.

In an interview with CNN, Trump said he does not want the conflict to last long and had anticipated a four-week timeframe.

“We’re a little ahead of schedule,” he said, adding that the “big wave” of the U.S. strike against Iran has yet to come.

Trump emphasized that the U.S. objectives are:

  • Destroying Iran’s missile capabilities
  • Neutralizing its navy
  • Halting nuclear ambitions
  • Cutting off arms supplies to militant groups

He did not rule out the possibility of deploying ground forces.
