A meeting of the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC) failed to take place due to the lack of the required quorum.
The agenda included the review of a request submitted by the Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as notifications from judges and administrative staff members from the Serb community regarding the withdrawal of their resignations.
The session was not held because the required number of members needed for decision-making was not present.
KJC Chairperson Rrustem Thaqi said that some members had informed him about the reasons for their absence, while others had not provided any explanation.
He criticized the absence of members, stating that such behavior could not be tolerated.
“Four of them informed me that they would not participate in the meeting… None of the members submitted a request for leave. This kind of conduct cannot be allowed. Due to the lack of quorum, this meeting cannot be held,” Thaqi said.
The issue had also caused disagreements during the previous KJC meeting, which was interrupted following a debate among members over the review of requests from judges and administrative staff from the Serb community in northern Kosovo to withdraw their resignations.
