Đorđe Miketić from the “Belgrade Remains” initiative has raised allegations of irregularities in Serbia’s voter list, claiming that preparations for election manipulation are being carried out through the voter register.
In a public reaction, Miketić claimed that thousands of voters have been “brought back to life” on voter lists in Kosovo, while he also mentioned Minister Snežana Paunović, who is responsible for administering the voter list.
“Snežana Paunović takes such good care of the residents of Peja that she simply ‘brought many people back to life,’ more precisely, voters. And not only in Peja, but throughout Kosovo,” Miketić wrote, also publishing data which, according to him, show changes in the voter list.
He claimed that there are six municipalities in Kosovo for which the relevant Serbian ministry does not publish data, mentioning Gllogoc (Drenas), Deçan, Gjakova, Shtime, Kaçanik and Suhareka.
According to the figures presented by Miketić, this concerns a total of more than 248,000 voters.
He added that these voters are not included in the total number of around 6.5 million voters that appeared in the previous elections in Serbia.
Miketić has also raised suspicions about a significant increase in changes to personal data in several municipalities.
“Many voters suddenly change or correct their first and last names in the voter list, while this number has increased eight to ten times,” he stated.
He mentioned Preševo as one of the examples, claiming that changes of residential addresses and registrations of people living abroad have also increased.
According to Miketić, new polling stations are also being prepared in Bosnia and Herzegovina and North Macedonia, which he links to his suspicions of possible manipulation.
Miketić’s claims regarding irregularities in the voter list have not been independently confirmed by the official sources reviewed.
The early parliamentary elections in Serbia are scheduled for October 25, 2026. The decision to dissolve parliament and call the elections was signed on September 9, while the Republic Electoral Commission has already begun the electoral procedures and certification of the lists.
