The Slovak Football Federation has announced restrictions for the upcoming match between Slovakia and Kosovo, scheduled for Thursday evening in Bratislava.
In a surprising move, Slovak authorities have prohibited holders of Kosovar passports from entering the sectors designated for home fans. Kosovar supporters will only be allowed access to the visitor sections, which are organized and reserved by the event organizers.
The Federation stated: “Entry to all sectors, except for those reserved for visiting fans, is limited to home team supporters. Individuals displaying banners, wearing shirts with foreign flags, offensive symbols, or inappropriate messages will be denied entry. Entry to home fan sectors by Kosovar passport holders will not be permitted.”
The decision has caused disappointment and frustration among some Kosovar fans who had already purchased tickets in various sections of the stadium. Unfortunately, these supporters will now be limited to the designated visitor sectors.
One anonymous fan told Gazeta Express that the rule was not specified at the time of ticket purchase, which only mentioned prohibitions regarding offensive symbols, flags of other countries, or discriminatory chants.
He also urged other Kosovar fans who had purchased tickets in sectors reserved for home supporters not to travel to Slovakia for the match.
