President Vjosa Osmani stated that today, with honor and humility, Kosovo commemorates the 28th anniversary of the Dukagjin Epic, one of the most glorious chapters of the country’s struggle for freedom.
She highlighted:
“On March 24, 1998, in Gllogjan, the Kosovo Liberation Army engaged in a frontal battle in this area, bravely confronting the genocidal forces of Serbia, which had surrounded the village and especially the Haradinaj family, who became a symbol of resistance and sacrifice for freedom.
On that glorious day, martyrs Himë Haradinaj, Gazmend, and Agron Mehmetaj fell for freedom, becoming forever part of our national history.
The Dukagjin Epic is a remembrance and testament to sacrifice, courage, and determination for freedom. It remains a lasting inspiration for generations to preserve and strengthen the state, built upon the blood of our martyrs.”
She concluded with:
“Eternal glory to all who fell for freedom!”
