Twenty-seven years ago, from March 25 to 27, 1999, 243 people were massacred in Krushë e Madhe by Serbian forces, while 893 private and public homes were burned down.

The Krushë e Madhe massacre remains the largest atrocity committed in Kosovo during the 1998–1999 war.

Many victims from this genocidal act are still missing to this day.

This massacre was included in the war crimes indictment against the “Butcher of the Balkans,” Slobodan Milošević, along with several other Serbian political and military leaders.

Despite this, there has never been a thorough investigation, and no one has been held directly accountable for the crimes committed in this village.
