Iran has officially “responded negatively” to the United States’ plan to end the ongoing conflict, according to the English-language broadcast of Iran’s state TV, Press TV.

Tehran reportedly stated that it will not allow former President Donald Trump to dictate the terms or timing of a conflict resolution, NBC News reports.

An Iranian official outlined five key conditions that must be met before Iran agrees to end hostilities. These include a full halt to “aggression and killings” by the United States and Israel, as well as recognition of Iran’s sovereignty over the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil passage.

Iran’s stance signals continued tension in the region and highlights the complexities of negotiating peace amid ongoing military operations and international pressure.
