The Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) has stated that it is monitoring the situation with electricity meters and is collecting information to ensure fair and accurate measurement of electricity consumption.
In its response, ERO also called on all consumers who encounter such issues to initially contact the Distribution System Operator, KEDS, for verification and inspection of their electricity meters.
“ERO assures consumers that all reported cases of discrepancies in tariff timing will be carefully analyzed and reviewed. If errors in the functioning of electricity meters are identified, the necessary measures will be taken in accordance with the applicable legislation and rules,” the statement says.

The Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) informs the public and all electricity consumers regarding reported concerns about possible deviations in tariff timing in electricity billing, stating that it is closely and continuously monitoring the situation and collecting information to ensure fair and accurate measurement of electricity consumption for all consumers, reflecting fair billing.
ERO urges all consumers that if they encounter such problems, they should first contact the Distribution System Operator (KEDS) for verification and inspection of their electricity meters.
ERO assures consumers that all reported cases of tariff timing discrepancies will be carefully analyzed and reviewed. If errors in the operation of electricity meters are found, necessary measures will be taken in accordance with applicable legislation and regulations.
It is emphasized that KEDS and KESCO are regulated companies operating in accordance with the legal and regulatory framework in force. Their revenues are determined by ERO, which limits the possibility of benefiting from potential errors in electricity measurement. Such errors, if they occur, may have only a temporary effect until they are identified and corrected.
Additionally, under current legislation, the institution responsible for the inspection and calibration of electricity meters is the Kosovo Metrology Agency, the competent authority for ensuring the accuracy of measuring devices.
