The Kremlin says Russian oil has begun reaching global markets after an agreement with US President Donald Trump aimed at easing fuel prices.

Moscow partially lifted its restrictions on oil exports on October 10, following Trump’s announcement that Russia had agreed to supply oil to global markets in an effort to bring prices down.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said diesel supplies were beginning to reach international markets and could help stabilize oil markets, although he warned that the shipments alone would not be enough to achieve full stabilization.

Shipping data showed that Russia had resumed export shipments from the Baltic port of Primorsk. On October 13, a tanker loaded approximately 40,000 metric tonnes of ultra-low-sulfur diesel bound for Morocco.
