The Russian army has advanced in the northeast of Ukraine and has occupied 278 square kilometers of territory within a week. An analysis by the France Press agency estimates that the occupation of Moscow has reached its maximum extent by the end of 2022.

According to an analysis by the France Press agency, the pressure around the northeastern capital was instrumental in weakening Kiev’s counterattacking units in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Meanwhile, Zelensky said that; “The situation is difficult, but it is under control.”

According to the AFP analysis based on the data of the Institute for the Study of War, between May 9 and 15 in the Kharkiv region alone, 257 square kilometers fell under Russian occupation. Another 21 sq km are located on other front lines, including the symbolic village of Robotyne, in the south of the country. So, after canceling a visit to Madrid, Ukrainian President Zelensky met with the army in Kharkiv.

Among them is intelligence chief Budanov, who arrived at the northeastern front a few days ago to closely monitor the situation.
