Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a new package of sanctions targeting Russia, focusing on entities involved in the alleged abduction of Ukrainian children and on vessels linked to Russia’s so-called “shadow fleet.”
According to Zelensky, the sanctions also include measures affecting a Belarus-linked entity, sending a broader signal to increase international pressure aimed at reducing the intensity of the war.
“This is an important package,” he said, emphasizing that Russia shows no genuine willingness for peace and must be compelled to take steps toward de-escalation.
Zelensky also issued a clear warning regarding Belarus, stating that it must not become directly involved in the conflict.
“There must be no operations against other European countries. In this war between Russia and Ukraine, a dignified peace must be achieved,” he stressed.
The move comes amid continued efforts by Ukraine and its allies to tighten economic and political pressure on Moscow, while trying to prevent the conflict from expanding further across the region.
