North Korea has removed all references to reunification with South Korea from its constitution, signaling a tougher stance toward Seoul. According to a document seen by AFP, the clause on the “reunification of the homeland” was eliminated in the revised version adopted in March.

Instead, the updated constitution emphasizes state borders and refers to South Korea as the “Republic of Korea,” warning against any territorial violations. The change follows statements by Kim Jong Un, who has described the South as a “hostile state.”

Meanwhile, tensions on the Korean Peninsula remain high, with Pyongyang continuing missile tests and strengthening ties with Russia and China, while Seoul continues to call for unconditional dialogue that has so far gone unanswered.
