President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has intensified his rhetoric against officials of the European Union following the decision to suspend funding for Belgrade, publicly criticizing Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos.

During a visit to Šid, Vučić stated that he had stopped communicating with several foreign officials whom he claimed “do not have good intentions toward Serbia,” directly mentioning Marta Kos.

“You see that I have stopped speaking about Marta Kos. I will not say a single word about her,” Vučić stated, according to local reports.

When asked whether, as President of Serbia, he should maintain communication with EU representatives, Vučić responded in an ironic tone, alluding to a hypothetical conversation with the European commissioner and suggesting that his position may also involve personal reasons.

Despite his criticism of Brussels, Vučić stated that Serbia would continue to remain on its European path.

The Serbian president also commented on activities organized for Europe Day at the Europe House Belgrade, including a concert by singer Darko Rundek near EU premises in Belgrade.
