Mark Rutte issued a strong warning toward Russia, stating that any use of nuclear weapons in the war against Ukraine would provoke a “devastating” response from the NATO alliance.

Speaking about Europe’s security situation and the war in Ukraine, now continuing for more than four years, Rutte stressed that the Kremlin is fully aware of the consequences such an action would bring.

According to him, any nuclear escalation would fundamentally change the nature of the conflict and pose a direct threat to global security.

“The Russians know that if they use nuclear weapons in Ukraine, NATO’s response will be devastating,” Rutte declared, emphasizing that the alliance remains united and prepared to respond to any strategic threat.

The statement comes amid continued tensions between NATO and Russia and growing concerns over security and military escalation in Eastern Europe.
