The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, has stated that approximately 85,000 Russian soldiers have been killed in Ukraine during 2026 alone.

Syrskyi revealed the figures during a Ukraine–NATO Council meeting in Brussels, according to Sky News.

He added that Russia’s total military losses this year have exceeded 141,500 personnel.

The statements come amid ongoing intense fighting on the front lines, where both sides continue to report high casualty numbers, though independent verification of battlefield figures remains difficult.
