Serbia’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director, Petar Petković, has commented on the ongoing parliamentary elections in Kosovo, stating that the victory of the Serbian List is in the “national interest” and calling for the party to secure all 10 Serb seats in the Assembly.

Speaking in an interview for the morning program of Radio Television of Serbia (RTS), Petković said it is “of decisive importance” for all Serbs—both those displaced living in central Serbia and those residing in Kosovo—to vote for the Serbian List.

“The victory of the Serbian List is a triumph of Serbian national interests in Kosovo. All 10 mandates must belong to this list, as it enjoys support in all Serbian communities in Kosovo,” Petković said.

He further stated that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić fully supports the Serbian List, describing it as the “inseparable link” between Serbs in Kosovo and Serbia.

“This is a guarantee for the continuation of all state aid from Serbia to the Serbian people in Kosovo. Albin Kurti is becoming increasingly nervous. We have had five election processes in 16 months, which shows the scale of the political crisis,” he said.

Petković also claimed that Serbs in Kosovo are defending their “right to existence” and institutions, adding that, in his view, Kosovo’s policies toward Serbs are unjust.

“What Kurti supports is directly against the interests of the Serbian people in Kosovo. That is why it is very important for the Serbian List to win all 10 mandates. This would ensure that the protection of Serbian national interests is fully under the control of the Serbian List,” he added.
