The Central Election Commission (CEC) has officially concluded the technical administration of the June 7 parliamentary elections, following the completion of a comprehensive recount of 185 polling stations at the Count and Results Center (QNR).
CEC Spokesperson Valmir Elezi confirmed during a press conference today that the institution is technically fully prepared to release the final election results. However, before the official announcement can be executed, standard legal appeal windows must be cleared.
The Certification Pipeline: What Happens Next?
The official 48-hour window for filing grievances regarding the recount process began ticking precisely at 12:00 PM today, immediately following the closure of the verification procedures at the QNR.
To transition into the final certification phase, the CEC will adhere to the following institutional protocol:
- PZAP Verification: Prior to publishing the definitive results, the CEC will request formal clearance from the Electoral Panel for Complaints and Appeals (PZAP) to guarantee there are no active, unresolved legal challenges.
- Detailed QNR Assessment: The Count and Results Center is finalizing a granular report mapping out the specific findings, discrepancies, and corrections logged across each of the 185 audited ballot boxes.
“With the completion of the recount, we can confirm that the CEC has concluded the administration of the process, including activities at the QKN and QNR. The Central Election Commission is technically ready to announce the final results of the June 7 elections. Before doing so, we will seek confirmation from PZAP to ensure no lingering complaints are being reviewed,” Elezi stated, adding that the final audit report will be compiled rapidly.
This administrative milestone clears the pathway for the formal certification of Kosovo’s new Assembly following the snap elections triggered by earlier political transitions.
