Renowned military analyst Aleksandar Radić has received an official summons to report to the premises of the Military Police. The summons is for the forensic examination of computers and digital devices that were seized by law enforcement during extensive searches of his properties in Belgrade.
Radić confirmed that the notification was delivered by a Military Police officer and emphasized that he will respond to the summons accompanied by his legal counsel, attorney Stefan Ćorda.
Conflict with the VBA: “Đuro Jovanić is Behind Everything”
Although the formal summons originated from the Military Police, the prominent defense analyst openly expressed suspicions regarding the true orchestrators of the operation, pointing the finger directly at the military intelligence agency and its leadership.
“The summons came from the Military Police, but I believe that the Military Security Agency (VBA) and its director, Đuro Jovanić, are behind everything,” Radić stated.
Radić claims that he has been subjected to systemic pressure and persecution by the intelligence agency for years due to his public criticism of the state of the armed forces and the military leadership:
- History of Intimidation: The analyst stated that since 2018, the VBA has repeatedly tried to “frame him” under false pretenses for an alleged attack on a member of the Serbian Armed Forces, alongside constant surveillance and the intimidation of people in his inner circle.
- Parade Incidents: Intelligence operatives attempted to remove him from a military parade held in Niš in 2019, a campaign that culminated on September 20 of last year when the VBA set an ambush to prevent him from attending a military parade in New Belgrade.
Background: The “Acoustic Cannon” Case and the March 15 Protests
The formal legal pretext for the sweeping measures against Radić stems from his media appearances concerning the highly controversial use of acoustic weaponry against demonstrators. The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade (VJT) announced that the search warrant was issued by a pre-trial judge of the Higher Court in Belgrade following Radić’s public statements regarding the so-called “acoustic cannon” case.
Timeline of Pressure on Aleksandar Radić:
[March 15, 2025] -> Use of sonic weaponry against demonstrators in Belgrade.
[June 22, 2026] -> Radić states that the truth about the acoustic cannon will come to light after a change in government; police launch raids across multiple locations.
[June 23, 2026] -> Military Police issue an official summons for the forensic analysis of seized equipment.
Just a day prior to the raid, Radić reiterated his firm stance that “the truth about the use of sonic weapons on March 15 will be uncovered after a change in power,” which visibly accelerated the response from judicial and security apparatuses.
Defense Attorney Ćorda: “Treated Like a Major Criminal”
The search of Radić’s property across three different locations concluded on Monday around 9:00 PM. His attorney, Stefan Ćorda, confirmed that the operation was exceptionally meticulous and rigorous.
While he described the conduct of the police officers and the prosecutor’s office on the ground as professional, Ćorda sharply criticized the scope and disproportionate nature of the investigation:
“They searched every possible device and even confiscated some computers belonging to his daughter. It was incredibly extensive, as if dealing with some major criminal, which Aleksandar Radić is absolutely not,” attorney Ćorda concluded, pointing out the clear imbalance between the alleged offense and the heavy-handed police tactics deployed.
