Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted a reception at the Government’s Open Balcony to mark the Memorial Day of the Egyptian Community.

In his address, Kurti emphasized that memorial days are often more emotional than celebratory occasions because they serve as a reminder of the journey and role of the Egyptian community in Kosovo’s society and state-building process.

He stated that the Egyptian community has been an inseparable part of Kosovo’s history throughout all stages of its development.

Kurti highlighted the community’s contributions in various fields, including social, political, economic, and cultural life, stressing the importance of equality, representation, and respect for the rights of all communities.

During his speech, the acting prime minister also mentioned prominent members and representatives of the Egyptian community who have contributed to Kosovo’s history and institutions, while praising their participation in the Assembly and public life.

Kurti further presented several government measures that, according to him, have aimed to improve living conditions for non-majority communities, including investments in infrastructure, housing support, student scholarships, and increased employment opportunities in public institutions.

In conclusion, he called for continued coexistence and cooperation, emphasizing that Kosovo is a shared home for all its citizens.
