The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has released a black-and-white video on social media that it says shows the airstrike carried out against Iran overnight.

The footage, labeled as “unclassified” public material, shows explosions and large plumes of smoke rising into the air. However, the exact target of the strike cannot be clearly identified.

The strike marks the first U.S. military action since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran, also known as the Islamabad Memorandum. The document was signed by U.S. President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Under the memorandum, both sides agreed to an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations across all conflict zones, including Lebanon. The agreement also provides for the end of the U.S. naval blockade of Iranian ports and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to ensure the free and secure passage of commercial vessels.

As part of the agreement, the United States committed to issuing temporary waivers for Iranian oil exports to the global market and to initiating the process of releasing frozen Iranian assets held abroad.

The memorandum serves as a political framework for negotiations aimed at reaching a comprehensive and final peace agreement within 60 days, including a resolution to the issue of Iran’s nuclear program.
