Kosovo’s Acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, has congratulated the United States on the 250th anniversary of its independence, emphasizing the historic significance of the values upon which the United States was founded and Kosovo’s special relationship with America.

Kurti attended a reception hosted by the U.S. Embassy in Pristina last night to mark U.S. Independence Day.

“250 years! Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness are enshrined in the preamble of the United States Declaration of Independence as among the unalienable rights that form the foundation of a government established with the consent of the people. While the civilized world has been inspired by these values, our people were deprived of these rights for a very long time. Our experience is unique because, for us, the realization of these values and rights is closely connected with the United States. Therefore, alongside the determination and sacrifice of our people for freedom and independence, American support naturally followed,” Kurti wrote in a Facebook post.

He added that Kosovo remains forever thankful and deeply grateful to the United States for its support, partnership, and what he described as an irreplaceable alliance.

“Last night, I had the honor of attending the celebration of U.S. Independence Day at the U.S. Embassy in the capital of our Republic. Kosovo is forever thankful and grateful to the United States for its assistance, partnership, and irreplaceable alliance,” Kurti wrote.
