Croatian media have reported on the planned July 5 protest in Zadar, Croatia, organized in support of the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).
The demonstration is being organized by the Albanian community in Croatia.
Croatian outlets quoted Hysni Gucati, chairman of the KLA War Veterans’ Organization, who said the protest comes as the judicial proceedings in The Hague approach their conclusion.
“We know that we are nearing the end of the process in The Hague. We hope that on July 20 the decision will be in our favor and that all the efforts of the defense will be recognized. On Sunday, July 5, at 6:00 p.m., we will hold a protest organized by Albanians in Croatia together with our Croatian friends,” Gucati said.
Gucati also called on all members of the Albanian diaspora living in Croatia, as well as those vacationing in or traveling through the country, to join the demonstration in support of the former KLA leaders.
“The protest will take place in a park in Zadar. I hope that the Albanian community, which has lived in Zadar for centuries and has expressed its willingness to participate in this protest for our liberators, will join us,” Gucati said, adding that he hopes this will be the final protest, expressing his belief that the former KLA leaders will return to Kosovo.
