U.S. and Iranian officials are holding low-level indirect technical talks in Doha, Qatar, through mediators from Qatar and Pakistan, according to a diplomatic source familiar with the discussions who spoke to CNN.
The negotiations are taking place indirectly, with mediators facilitating communication between the two sides.
U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of President Donald Trump, are not directly participating in the technical talks. However, the two met on Tuesday in Doha with the Prime Minister of Qatar to lay the groundwork for Wednesday’s indirect negotiations, the source said.
