Kosovo’s acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, has announced that the government aims to invest €1 billion in the defense sector during its next mandate as part of a broader plan to strengthen the Kosovo Security Force (KSF).
Kurti made the remarks during the graduation ceremony of the KSF Cadet Class of 2026, emphasizing that alongside investments in modern military equipment and infrastructure, the development of highly trained professional personnel will remain a key priority.
He also announced plans to increase the participation of women in the armed forces and to establish a munitions manufacturing facility in Kosovo.
According to Kurti, a modern military is built not only through advanced equipment but also through well-trained personnel who are dedicated to serving the state and fulfilling its mission.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Commander of the Center for University Studies, Major Mimoza Buteci, highlighted the importance of discipline, responsibility, and placing the interests of the state above personal interests throughout the military careers of the newly graduated cadets.
