Aleksandar Radovanović, Secretary-General of Serbia’s Free Citizens Movement (PSG), has shared photographs showing posters placed outside a bakery owned by an Albanian in the city of Kruševac, Serbia.

The posters, written in Serbian, read: “Don’t forget Gazimestan. Don’t buy from Albanians.”

The posters also use the term “Šiptari,” a derogatory ethnic slur used by some Serbian nationalists to refer to Albanians.

In a post on X, Radovanović said those responsible should be publicly condemned and held accountable for inciting ethnic hatred.

“The poster placed today in Kruševac, in front of a bakery owned by an Albanian. The policy of retaliatory measures against Albanians in Serbia must be publicly condemned and stopped, while those who conceived and organized this act should be held accountable, in accordance with the law, for inciting ethnic hatred,” he wrote.

The post was later shared by Nataša Kandić, founder of Serbia’s Humanitarian Law Center, who also called on the students who have been protesting across Serbia for months to gather in front of the bakery as a gesture of solidarity and opposition to ethnic nationalism.

“Gather in front of the bakery in Kruševac. Show solidarity and demonstrate that you stand against all forms of ethno-nationalist actions,” Kandić wrote on X.
