Former Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) leader Ramush Haradinaj has commemorated the Battle of Morina, which took place on July 7, 1998, in the Dukagjini Operational Zone.
In a Facebook post, Haradinaj said that together with the families of the fallen and fellow veterans, he honored the memory of the fighters who gave their lives in the Dukagjini Operational Zone.
“Today, together with the families of the martyrs and fellow comrades-in-arms, we honored the memory of the brave men who became immortal on that day: Muhamet Ukshini, Shkëlzen Syla, Blerim Ukshini, Ahmet Pulatini, Fisnik Salihu, Nezir Elezaj, Ymer Bytyqi, Arben Ukshini, and Sylejmon Abdyli.
On the anniversary of their sacrifice, we also honored the memory of martyr Agim Mazrekaj. He was a distinguished and determined fighter, always ready for battle and every military duty.
Their loss was a heavy blow to the course of the war, but at the same time it became an inspiration for thousands of young people who joined the ranks of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), carrying forward the sacred ideal of freedom. Eternal honor to the fighters of freedom,” Haradinaj wrote.
